Calm down. We're not favoring staying on RC2 in lieu of installing RC3, the suggestion is to install a dev build or wait a few weeks until the next RC version is released. The determination to upgrade is set, but the hope is to avoid including additional bugs to our experience. Please understand. I think many are in favor of a dev build, so that seems to be the most likely choice at this point.

In which case, where's this mysterious dev build coming from?

Lots of people here have access to a dev build. Getting one on here won't be an issue.

Dragooon and I both have SVN access, and I'm willing to bet both Jordan and Jack do too.

RC4 doesn't seem to be far away so I'm fine with waiting. Or do a dev build.
Last time I heard of a tentative release date, RC4 was expected to be released in June, and then postponed soon after because all of the devs apart from me were unavailable. I stayed as the only active dev for several weeks, asking for a proper dev badge. Never got it, so I quit and in the meantime (late July), the bug reports have accumulated... Thankfully, other devs have taken the lead and are working hard on finishing RC4. I don't believe it is to be expected before September or October by now, though, especially as the templates are being reworked a lot (~250KB of diff patches for the last week.) I think the idea is to release the Gold version before the end of the year. So an RC4 in October would still be okay.

Sorry for not updating over the weekend, everyone. Went to Legoland on Friday, then was sick and sore until today.

I'm downloading this forum's source files right now, so I can see what changes need to be put back in place after upgrading.

Powered by SMF 2.0 RC3 - DEV 20100803

I've updated about half the files, didn't feel the need to put us into maintenance mode... still have to do the Curve files and any database changes. Oh, and I have to put the code changes back into the Sources :)

Theme bug http://www.yourasoft.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;area=statistics

Put attached file to theme folder, it should fix that.

edit: also, wiki link is gone from menu

Heh, I didn't see that because I don't use the custom theme. I'll get to that either during lunch, or this afternoon. Thanks :)

Good job!

There were indeed a few regressions in RC3, some related to the security fixes as well. :D They should all be fixed in the dev builds, yes.

Afaik, RC3 was considered needed asap by the former dev team because of security fixes.

Currently there is still work on 37 tracked issues, of which all the relevant ones are expected to be all solved for RC4.
